BoM Teachers who Did not receive Government Subsidy in June-December to receive Ksh. 60,000 Each

Teachers employed by schools BOM Management Boards have reason to smile after the Department of Education cleared their arrears. Teachers expected to pay Sh60,000; wage payments June to December, 2020.

BoM teachers failed to get salaries during the long-term closure of schools in 2020 due to the outbreak of Covid 19. And, indeed, these teachers are having a hard time.

The Department has simultaneously issued guidelines for the recruitment of BOM staff.

According to the staff guidelines issued by the Department, single-day schools should have only 5 staff members while the largest school with 15 streams can employ more than 37 staff in terms of the BOM.

The school nurse should also double as a matron while the hired professionals should be able to perform multiple (multi-skilled) tasks.

Teaching and non-teaching staff should be fully employed and pensionable.

The lowest worker should pocket Sh9,660 while the highest earner earns Sh41,000 a month. However, these salaries should be included in employee qualifications.
