Form One Selection Date For KCPE 2020 Candidates

Form one selection for the 2020/2021 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidates will be conducted from May 28, 2021, according to Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha.

Magoha stated that all the candidates who sat the KCPE will be allowed to progress to a secondary school under the program by the government of 100 percent transition to secondary schools.

Further President Uhuru Kenyatta pardoned candidates who engaged in exam irregularities during the 2020 KCPE.

Speaking on Thursday during the release of this year’s KCPE results, Magoha said Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha stated that 7 candidates were found in possession of pre-prepared notes in examination rooms. 5 cases of impersonation were also reported.

However, instead of canceling the results of the candidates as has been the pattern, Magoha said that the President charged that all results for the 1,179,192 candidates who sat the KCPE examination are released.

“The President pronounced himself that we shall release the results of all the candidates but those staffers who allowed this to happen shall be severely punished. As you can see, the President is extremely magnanimous with the children and ours is to obey his directive,” said Magoha.

Magoha stated that the low numbers of irregularities were due to the government’s effective multi-sectoral examinations monitoring team which stamped out and nipped in the bud any malpractice before they could occur.

“These measures ensured that cases of irregularities during the sitting of the examinations, and during the marking process, were either stamped out or nipped in the bud before they could happen,” he said.
