Following the advert that was released by the Ministry of Education on 5th April 2021, that require KCSE candidates to apply for diploma course in Primary Teacher Education and Early Childhood Development Teacher Education, here is the procedure for application into these faculties.
Note: Candidates are advised on to make their application in only one centre. Any who will apply in more than one centre, will automatically be disqualified.
During the application process, you can download the application form from the Ministry of Education website www.education.go.ke.
One can also pick the application form from the County Directors of Education (CDEs) offices.
After obtaining the form, dully fill it and submit it to the Sub County Directors of Education offices as from 6th April 2021 to 20th April 2021 by the applicant in person.
NB: Those with special needs are encouraged to make applications too.
If you have not yet read the entry requirements for this course, then they include;
Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (PTE)
- Mean grade of a C plain at KCSE level or it’s equivalent with a C plain in
– Humanities ( Any one subject)
– Science ( Any one subject)
For candidates with disabilities, the minimum entry requirement is a C- (Minus) and a C- (Minus) in the stated cluster subjects.
Diploma in Early Childhood Development Teacher Education (EDDTE)
1. Mean grade of a C plain at KCSE level or it’s equivalent
2. Candidates with disability will be admitted with a C- (Minus) at KCSE level or it’s equivalent.
A minimum of a C- (minus) in the above listed cluster subjects.
Both the courses will take a duration of three years.
