This is the only girls’ school at Nakuru High School in Kenya. The school was started in 1922 when white immigrants in the area wanted a school for their children. In 1927, the Nakuru European School was officially opened to care only for the children of White residents from the then Western Cape colony.
After Kenya gained its independence, the school changed its name to its current name. Also, that is when students of all races began to be accepted into the school and the majority of whites dropped their children out of school.

Performance of Nakuru Girls High School KCSE;
The school is known for excelling at home and national examinations. From time to time, it appears among the top 100 schools in the country. In the 2016 KCSE, at least 213 out of 227 students obtained a grade that means C + and above. In 2017, the school was ranked 40th nationally at KCSE with a performance index of 59.94. The school continues to aim for high marks in the coming years.

Here, the choice of one form is often made with academic merit in relation to the KCPE exam. Students with high results and who have chosen a school as the first choice are given more priority than others. Students are also selected on a need basis based on the financial basis of the parents.
