Requirements And Guidelines For TSC Registration As Teacher

The teachers service commission act of 2012 article 237 requires that any teacher who is qualified to be a teacher from a recognized university should be registered before him/her is engaged in the teaching profession. Therefore those teachers who have graduated from the University and other tertiary institutions should follow the guidelines in the teachers Service commission and get registered before engaging in teaching.

Its a criminal offence to teach in the Kenyan Schools before getting registered. Therefore, anybody found to have violated this law will be charged and even imprisoned.


  1. Visit the Teachers Service Commission Website through
  2. Click on the menu on the right hand side and chose Services
  3. Click on Teacher Registration and then choose Registration, you will directed to the page that gives guidelines on the application process.
  4. Towards the bottom of the page you will be directed to the link written CLICK HERE FOR REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT. The link will open a new page where you now be apply by following the prompts given on that page.


You are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Ksh. 1055 through the National Bank of Kenya  Account 01001005707400 where Ksh.1000 is the registration fee and Ksh.55 is the bank commission. You can also pay through the simple banking method Via the paybill xxxx.

After payment, scan your academic testimonials which include;

a) Copies of professional and academic certificates either original of copies certified by the County Education Director.

b) Identity Card

c) Slip from the bank or Mpesa confirmation message to indicate payment of registration fee

d) Passport which is photo size

e) The KRA Pin

f) Medical form, the GP69

g) The Certificate of excellent conduct

h) For non Kenyans, they should include the work permits

The above documents will be uploaded in the fields provided in the webpage during the application. If any document is missing, your application will be rejected. Therefore ensure that all the documents are uploaded to avoid being disqualified.
