The teachers service commission has developed a revised structure in the commission. The following are the major highlights.
The commission has three Directorates in which each is headed by a Deputy County Secretary (DSC). These Directorates include;
(a) Finance and Administration
(b) Teacher Management
(c) Human Resource Management and Development.
Each directorate above has sections, Divisions and subsections.
Each division will be headed by a Director whereas a Section by a senior Deputy Director. Also there are specialized units to be headed by the Director or a senior Deputy Director.
Directorates with Divisions and specialized units include;
I) Teacher Management Directorate.
This one is tasked with the following;
• Quality Assurance and standards and teacher Registration Division
• Staffing Division
• Field Service Division
II) Finance and Administration Directorate
This Directorate is mandated with;
• Finance and Accounts Division
• General Administration Division
III) Human Resource Management and Development
Its tasked with the following;
• Human Resource Management Division
• Human Resource Development Section
• Pension Section
IV) Specialized Units
The specialized Units below will report to the COE.
a) Information, Communication and Technology
b) Legal Service Division
c) Internal Audit Division
d) Corporate Communication section
e) Policy planning Research and innovation section
f) Supply chain Management Section.
V) Decentralized Units
The Commission has established the following Regional Offices to be headed by TSC Regional Coordinators in addition to existing Counties and Sub County Structure;
– Rift Valley
– North Eastern
The Coordinators of the region will be required to report back to the secretary of the deputy commission,in charge of Teacher management.
