The Huge Sum Of Money Buruburu Girls Will Pay To Cater For Damages As Students Resume

Buruburu Girls administration has announced the reopening of the school days after a dormitory at the learning institution caught fire

In a letter addressed to parents dated Friday,November 5th 2021, the administration asked them to make sure they have cleared all fee arrears before sending the learners back to school.

Parents of students at BuruBuru Girls High School will pay for damages incurred on the institution’s premises following a fire that occurred on last Sunday.

Important information for the parents

  1. In a notice, the school’s administration told the students to report back on Monday and Tuesday next week in the company of their parents with Ksh. 1,500 to cater for the damages.
  2. “Form 3 and 4 to report on Monday 8th at 9:00 AM and Form 1 and 2 on Tuesday 9th at 9:00 AM,” the notice from the school read in part.
  3. Parents are also expected to clear their childrens’ fees before they can be allowed back into the institution.
  4. The school’s administration has similarly outlawed body sprays, sanitizers, spirits, jewelry, and beadworks of any kind on its grounds.
  5. Vehicles will also not be allowed into the school when the students report back.

The school’s Principal, Caroline Maina, in an interview with a local media house stated that investigations into the cause of the fire were still ongoing, adding that she had held a meeting with Form One and Two students on the fateful day.

Maina had invited guests to offer counselling services to the students in a session organised by the school.

The principal further advised concerned parents not to take their children away from school, assuring them that the institution was in a position to manage the situation.

“I’m appealing to parents to allow the school to handle the situation because of security reasons. Be sure we are in control of things.We have enough security in the school and we want to handle the situation internally,” she stated.

At about 6pm on Sunday,October 31st 2021 , videos circulating on social media showed students jumping from one of the dormitories. This raised concern among the public.

However, a video seen on social media showed what was happening within the school compound. In the video, students had set up mattresses at the base of the building to cushion them when they fall.
