The teachers service commission is doing reforms day in day out in the education sector. The reforms are meant to add quality to the education offered to learners and also impart more skills to them,to be helpful in the society. As a result of this,, the ministry, specifically the teachers service commission introduced the competence based curriculum (CBC). The curriculum is being implemented and everyone is slowly adapting to it as it is going to be the new normal. Learners have so far embraced it, together with teachers as it is more of practical work than paper work, meaning learners will acquire more life skills to help them in the near future.

Most of the subjects to be offered are more of practical work than course work. This is very vital moreso for the learners as they will gain more life skills and have more knowledge on a wide range of issues. This will hugely make the be prepared to self employ themselves soon after completion of studies.
Since the number of subjects to be offered has increased greatly the government should consider absorbing more and more teachers in my opinion. This is a move that will greatly reduce their workload and ensure improved efficiency. This idea has come up at a time when the government is having plans to do away with P1 certificate course abd urging those graduates with P1 qualification to go back to school for a further one year to ensure they at least have a diploma.
